One-on-one mentoring for beginner and developing beekeepers on the Cumberland Plateau — real guidance, at the hive, in our climate.
Books can only take you so far
Beekeeping is a hands-on craft — and the Plateau has its own rhythms. Summer nectar flows, humid winters, and late spring swarms don’t care what chapter you’re on. Real confidence comes from time at the hive with someone who knows the territory.
Whether you’re getting your first package settled or troubleshooting a struggling colony, mentoring puts local, experienced eyes on your bees — not a forum post.
How we work together
New Beekeeper Program
Start-to-first-harvest support for first-year beekeepers. Covers installation, inspections, seasonal management, and your first extraction.
Tell us where you are in your beekeeping journey — we’ll figure out the right fit from there.
02
We visit your hive
Most mentoring happens at your apiary so we’re working with your bees, your setup, your questions.
03
Keep learning
Every visit builds on the last. You leave with clear next steps — no guesswork between sessions.
Rooted on the Plateau
Rooted in Crossville and the surrounding Cumberland Plateau, TLC Apiary brings hands-on experience with the region’s humidity, late frosts, and summer droughts to every mentoring session.
